|Recommended: YesThank You — My daughter enjoys the location and people.
|Recommended: YesI Love It Here — I have lived here for almost a year and have already renewed for next year
|Recommended: YesWeek One — So far I love Canvas Wonderful amenities, seating space, study space, entertaining space, you name it Gym sauna and spray tan booth are unbeatable. Lit up pool and hot tub, great My only reason for leaving this message here is to leave a suggestion- in order to prevent recurring Maintenece costs due to negligence on tenants behalf, I would suggest investing in updating the paint in some areas as well as the carpet pattern. I believe that if you invest in “growing the place up a bit” per se- it would attract an older clientele who would be more likely to respect the amenities. In the long run, I believe this would help prevent the need for tremendous rent increases to make up for damages caused by those younger students, because you would attract more people who are paying out of their own pocket rather than parents etc and they would be more likely to respect the community. I love everything about canvas amenity wise, I feel like it has a lot of potential to be fully luxury. I would love to see the bowling alley reminiscent carpets in the hallways be replaced with a more neutral carpet or a sleek mop-able material, and the hallway colorful arches to be more muted and grown as well. Maybe grey black and sage green… the elementary blue and patterned carpets to be replaced with something less elementary would be my main suggestion to elevate the look and attract more mature clientele

|Recommended: YesFirst Year Review — Small damage when moved in, nothing detrimental. Our room was unfortunately the farthest you can possibly be from the front desk but that’s just bad luck. Neighbors upstairs are constantly stomping or moving furniture it feels like but can barely hear next door neighbors. Amenities in the building are awesome, love the pool and surprisingly good coffee machine in lobby. Gym being 24 hours is a big plus, and the walk to campus isn’t terrible, could be worse only about 15 min to MU .

|Recommended: YesIts A Nice Apartment, But I Was Thoroughly Unimpressed Upon Move In At The State Of My Unit. — Upon moving into my new apartment here at canvas, I immediately noticed that much of the common area was very dirty. Upon further inspection of this area and my own personal room, nobody had came through and cleaned anything in the apartment. The floors were filthy, the drawers were dirty, and the bathroom was not clean whatsoever. It took multiple hours to clean the whole place and had set me and my family back so much that we had to cancel multiple plans in order to move me in in time. After paying all of the move in fees and not being able to move in until halfway through the month, while paying for a full month of rent, we were pissed at the state of my room and unit. My room on the website of floor plans was wildly misguiding, as I cant even fit a mini-fridge in my bedroom, and had to settle with putting it in the bathroom and running power underneath the door. They also advertise putting the desk and dressers in other places online, but in person there is only one way that this room can be laid out, and it was not the one that was advertised. While the grounds and amenities are nice, Canvas really needs to work on actually following through with cleaning their units before people move in, because the current state of it is atrocious.

|Recommended: NoReview Of Student Moving In- Place Needs Help — I was given a key to the room and bathroom that has not been cleaned- had hair on the bed, fake nails on the floor, dirty shower, and broken shower head. Bed is wobbly, kitchen wall under counter is filthy dirty with foot stains , microwave handle is broken. Property staff is helpful
We regret that you have had an unpleasant experience. Resident satisfaction is extremely important to us, and this is not the type of impression that we want to make. Our team made ourselves available on move-in day to address your concerns and rectify any shortcomings in a timely manner. Please let us know if you have any further concerns! |Recommended: YesWalls — The walls in our apartment were not patched and still need painting, the screen of the window was broken and the window has a crack.
Every resident is important to us, and we are sincerely sorry that you have experienced a problem. Since at least one of the residents in your unit was a renewal, it is their responsibility to ensure the common area is move-in ready for new roommates! With that being said, we do check that common area has been cleaned for the incoming residents, and that there are no major damages. If you have not done so already, please put in maintenance requests for the window screen and crack so that we are able to repair these. Unfortunately, we do not typically paint the common area while residents are still residing there, however I would like to extend an offer to mend this situation. I will be reaching out to you via email shortly! Sincerely, Canvas Management
